The group were delighted to have a visit from Jacqui Booker on Wednesday November 25th 2009, to give a talk on her life in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (F&CO) and her current role as Deputy Consul of Shanghai.

feedback about recent events
The talk was very entertaining and started off with a very funny ‘phone call’ from ‘M’ of MI5.
Jacqui then went on to lead us through her various roles on her way to her present position of Deputy Consul of Shanghai.
She explained the role of the F&CO around the world and how they are helping promote British businesses overseas.
She mentioned the upcoming Expo Exhibition, this is the modern equivalent of the original Great Exhibition in the Crystal Palace of 1851, and what a fantastic experience it will be.
The evening finished with Jacqui acting out the stereotypical Embassy engagement by handing out Ferrero Rocher chocolates to everyone.
